Welcome to Dao Café. Please calm your wondering mind and make yourself at home. Try some "Simple Dao Entries" and allow a super short intro into what Dao Café website is about!
Here at Dao Café, we share the close relationship between lives and Dao, so as why these two are inseparable. Is this intro short or what?!!!
Confucius stated, “Should a person learn about Dao early in the day, he may die in the evening with no regret.”*1
What is this Dao thing that when one is enlightened on the true meaning, one could die shortly after without regret? Please allow me to explain.
Dao is often interpreted as the Way, the Truth, and/or the Almighty. Jesus says “I am the way and the truth and the life."*2
In a nutshell, Dao exists in the universe. It flows inside you and me. Learn, appreciate, and cultivate Dao. We infuse Dao into our daily lives. Integrating Dao with our soul, mind, and body, we are to bring forward the healthier, more positive and promising lives.
Due to people’s different culture background and individual needs, here at Dao Café, we serve food of soul as below:
1. To elevate the quality of our living
2. To recognize alternative ways for dealing with people and managing things
3. To fulfill the need of nourishing our souls and minds
4. To find the road leading to wisdom and enlightenment
5. To learn the treasury of teachings from the five religions*3
Living our lives as a temple, we learn Dao, cultivate Dao, practice Dao, and share Dao with others. As long as we’re alive, Dao is what we follow. No matter we are into politics, hold positions in the government, run a business, or as common citizens, we should all maintain our dignities. When every and each one of us follows a similar set of social norms and treats one another with a clear conscience, a virtuous interactive circle would be created. This virtuous circle would generate positive energy and eventually lead to a society like heaven on earth. That is when we are one step closer to a state of world peace (Da-Tung.)
